Trying soooooo hard
Lily's trying so hard to get this whole crawling thing down. She gets up there and doesn't know what to do next. All she knows is that it's very frustrating to see the other babies at playgroup going wherever they want and she wants to go too!

Little Miss Independant
I don't know what's going on, but in the last week Lily has stopped breastfeeding (she self-weaned) and now she's refusing to eat solids from a spoon. She won't eat unless she can feed herself. So now she's onto finger foods. It's been a stressful week. I was very emotional when she stopped wanting to nurse, it made me sad. But it's nice to have a cup of REAL coffee in the morning! She's growing up way too fast, it feels like I was pregnant last month and now here she is stuffing cheese cubes into her mouth with her chubby, dimpled little hand. She's still trying to figure out how to crawl but she's getting closer. I'm guessing by the end of the month I won't be able to keep up with her.

Snow Storm Day 6 - No end in sight!
7am this morning
I have got some serious cabin fever. That picture was taken from my dining room of the view aross the street. Usually at that time I can see the houses perfectly and it's a lot brighter. There's so much snow coming down you can't see anything. The black dots are snow clinging to the windows. People keep getting stranded at Jason's work. They make it in when there's a break in the weather and then it gets bad again and they close the roads. Luckily Jason's managed to avoid being stuck there but some friends of ours haven't been so lucky and ended up being there for 3 days before they could make it home. The latest announcement from Bruce Power (where Jason works):
Bruce County Road 23 leading into the Bruce Nuclear plant from the Kincardine area is closed but despite the fact that it's closed there are a lot of cars stranded there.
Bruce Power wants it's staff to stay home. Because of deteriorating weather and road conditions - employees are not to report to work at this time. Bruce power will make further announcements through the day.
In Huron County the OPP say they're trying to get some more roads closed but are too busy investigating crashes.
All the roads that lead out of town have been closed since Sunday. Argh!

I'm 7 months old today!
I know this picture is a little blurry (she moved when I took it) but it's just SO her!
Time sure is flying by! Lily is so talkative all of a sudden, she's always chirping away, to her toys, to us, to the sofa, it doesn't seem to matter! She's full of stories. She's sleeping like a champ now which is awesome, I can finally finish watching a whole episode of Grey's Anatomy! She's rolling back and forth all over the place and is desperately trying to crawl so I put her on her tummy as often as I can. She still loves her Jolly Jumper and exersaucer, she's a bouncer. Food is going really well, the only thing she really doesn't like is turnips, but they'e pretty strong tasting so I don't blame her really. I'm starting to wean her slowly, she has 2 bottles a day now and I plan to bump that up a feeding every 2 weeks or so. I'm dying for a caffeinated drink! I should mention that the dress she's wearing was a christmas gift from her Great-Aunt Nancy, thanks Nancy, it fits and it's super-cute! We were at playgroup on Tuesday and this little 10 month-old boy Andrew was crawling by her and as he passed she reached out and smacked his butt...we're going to have trouble with this one!
