Mommy's Little Helper
If I leave the broom anywhere in reach these days my trusty little helper grabs it and starts sweeping. Here she is helping me clean up before everyone arrived for the long weekend. She hasn't started asking for an allowance yet but I'm sure it won't be that much longer!

Another Mystery Baby!
Well, seems like this baby is just as secretive as it's older sister was. We had an ultrasound today and there was no way to tell if it is a boy or a girl. The baby was being very uncooperative. It was positioned laying on it's side (parallel to the ground) with it's head pointed to the right and turned away towards my spine. The ultrasound technician had a real hard time getting the images she needed for the exam cause everywhere she went the baby turned away! She managed to get this shot as the baby was rolling away from her and she said it was the only time she saw it's face. She also said it's pretty likely I'll need to come in for another one in a month cause she doesn't think the doctor will be satisfied with the images she captured so we may get another chance and figuring out what we're having.

Backyard Baby Jail
We hadn't planned on fencing the yard for a little while but Lily runs like the wind and I'm having a hard time keeping up with her these days. We figured we should get the fence in this year and then she can have a nice safe place to play. Luckily my friend John just moved to town so we wrangled him in to doing it cause if Jason did it it would take him every day off he had all summer with how much he's been working lately. So far so good. Next step is excavating for the patio and putting down crush stone. The actual patio will be done next year, the ground needs to settle a bit more so the stones don't shift too much. It should be a pertty nice little backyard oasis when it's all done.
it looks like there's a huge gap underneath the fence but the neighbour's yard still needs to be back-filled and graded and the landscapers need to come put sod on our side up to the fence so the gap won't be so big once that's done.

Baby #2 - 4 months along...yikes!
Well, the first 4 months have passed with little drama. This pregnancy is the complete opposite to Lily. I'm feeling pretty good these days, I don't *need* my afternoon nap anymore, and nothing makes me feel queasy these days...unfortunately. It seems like I'm bursting at the seams already, they say you pop earlier with second (third, fourth, etc...) pregnancies than you do with your first but this is ridiculous! I looked back at pictures from my first pregnancy and I look closer to how I looked at 6 months than 4. I'm still not 100% convinced there isn't 2 babies in there!

The Scottish Festival Parade
kilts as far as the eye can see!
Good thing it wasn't a windy day, I know a lot of these people are hardcore kilt wearers and there's nothing under those things!

The MacLeod clan makes an appearance in the video. There were so many families represented in the parade and in today's presbyterian church service there is a blessing of the family tartans. It's quite something to see, and hear. You walk around town and every where there are bagpipers practicing for competitions either solo or with a drummer or with their brigade.
The sound of bagpipes can be heard all over town this weekend.

Lily's 2nd Birthday Party
The whole cake took me 3 hours to decorate...I think next year I'll be hitting the bakery counter at Sobey's!
Lily and Aunt Denise playing with the kitchen set from Uncle Darin, Aunt Cheryl, Nicole and Stephanie. Lily spent a very quiet 2 hours playing here with the dishes and food. What a great gift!
