Princess Lily's New Castle

It's official, work has finally started on our dream house! We are SO excited! Yesterday we went to the design centre and picked out all of our interior finishes, with Lily's help of course. Last week we selected our cabinetry for the kitchen and the week before we selected our exteriors, so now it's all in the builder's hands. We're told we should move in by September 17th but we have our current house until September 28th so as long as they finish by then we'll be happy! Here are some pictures of the progress...

What our street currently looks like from in front of our lot. The house far off in the distance will be the model home. It's the same design as our house without the modifications to the garage (the original plan's garage is 18'x20', we enlarged ours to 24'x20'). The house in the foreground is on lot 5, we're lot 9.

What the cul de sac looks like from the front of our lot.

Excavation began yesterday! We could hear the backhoe from our house (it's around the corner) so we went down to see.

Lily loved watching the backhoe, she kept clapping and waving her arms. We're going to take a lot of walks over the summer to check out the progress!

Will that be one scoop or two?

Welcome Back Summer!

Swingin' Lily

Lily's new favourite thing to do..swinging! I took her to the park for the first time last week and put her in the swing and she wouldn't stop giggling. All the other parents wandered over to check her out cause they could hear her clear across the park. We go all the time now and the novelty still hasn't worn off.

Higher Mommy!

This is pretty high, hang on to me Daddy!

Me and Daddy checking out the tube

Hey, this is pretty neat!

Let me go Daddy, I can do it by myself!

See, I told you I could do it

Lily's boyfriends

This is Lukas and Liam, Lily's boyfriends. Yes she has two, and they fight over her. They're a set of fraternal twins that were born about 9 days after Lily. We all go to playgroup together and as soon as we walk in they get all excited and stare at her. If she wanders over to where they're playing they want to touch her and kiss her, it's very cute!

Here come the pearly whites

I finally managed to get a picture of Lily's emerging teeth. The bottom front 2 are poking up and her two top teeth are right below the surface. Our furniture is taking a beating with all the chewing.

The Great Staring Contest of 2007

Ha ha ha, you're so funny mommy!

Yay!

A party! For me? Wow!

Grandma and Grandpa invited everyone over to see me and mommy on Saturday before we headed home. We had a big barbeque and there were a lot of people. I wasn't a very happy camper that day, but I have a good reason for being so cranky...the next morning when I woke up I had my first tooth! Finally! Guess I should have told mommy I was upset cause my gums were sore, sorry to anyone who was offended by my crying, it wasn't personal! (Note from mommy: I'm trying to get a picture of Lily's first tooth, but she's pretty stubborn and won't open her mouth wide enough!)

Enjoying the nice weather out on the deck

We need more space!

I'm not too sure about all this, there are a LOT of people and everyone's watching me eat!

I had a really good time at Grandma and Grandpa's last week but I sure was glad to be home! I missed Daddy so much and he missed me and mommy too. Mommy says we're coming back to Ottawa for my birthday, I can't wait!

Up to no good with Daddy's Visa!

Mommy and I spent a lot of time doing what girls do best, shopping, spending time with friends, shopping....did I mention shopping?

Auntie April picked out these sunglasses for me at Old Navy....I didn't think they were "me".

After a long day of shopping, a girl needs her Starbucks Frappucino!

Me, mommy and auntie April spent an afternoon browsing in the Byward Market, I slept through most of it but what I saw I liked!
