Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Girl

Out on the ocean, sailing away
I can hardly wait
To see you come of age
But I guess we'll both just have to be patient
Cause it's a long way to go,
A hard row to hoe
Yes it's a long way to go,
But in the meantime...

Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is just what happens to you while you're busy making other plans...

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Girl,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Lily.

Lily's Christening

We wanted to have Lily's christening last year but with my grandma and uncle passing away and all the travel involved it just wasn't the right time. Nailing down a time that was good for both us and Lily's godparents Phil and PJ was quite the ordeal but we managed to find a weekend that worked! It was a very special ceremony for us as it was performed by Rev. Hanna who married us 2 years ago and it was done at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Aylmer, Québec where I was baptized as well as my sister and countless other cousins, and it was also the church where my parents were married, as well as countless other aunts and uncles (and my cousin Erin is being married here on September 1st). Our family IS the congregation at St. Andrew's! We'd like to thank Phil and PJ for being such wonderful friends and for being there for us and Lilianna on such an important day.

Rev. Hanna pours the holy water.

The hand-off.

It's not going so good. Lily's missed her nap she's not happy about it.

Rev. Hanna is a pro.

She's a little wet but she's okay.

Lily's cake. The dress on it is a replica of the dress I had bought for the christening but then due to a communication error between me and Jason, got left in Kincardine. Thanks ma tante Sue for the beautiful cake!

Lily finally gets her nap.

Lilianna's First Haircut

Lily's bangs were becoming ridiculously long. It was the hair that she was born with and I was dreading cutting it but it was definitely time so we took her to see Alona, a friend of my parents, for her first haircut.

What are we doing here mommy? I thought we were going shoe shopping?

Haircut!? But I don't want a haircut!

Grandma, tell mommy I don't need a haircut!

What am I going to do with all my pretty bows now? I don't like this!

Fine, I'll sit still. But just so you know mommy, everyone will think I'm a boy...

And you grandma, you were in on this too weren't you?

Bangs are so last year.

...well maybe that wasn't too bad, I can see now and I got a lollipop.
Can I get a perm next time mom?

At the beach with Andrew

Nancy and I took Lily and Andrew to the beach to enjoy one of the few remaining days of summer. They sure kept us busy, between shoving sand in their mouths and running straight for the water we never got a moment's peace!

Kaitlyn's Birthday

My friend Kaitlyn turned 1 on August 1st and we went all the way to Oakville for her party. I was a really good girl on the trip. We had tons of fun, there were so many other kids there. It was too hot to go outside so we stayed indoors all afternoon ,but that's okay cause Kaitlyn's mommy is opening a daycare and so she has a lot of toys. Kaitlyn and I got along really well but I couldn't understand why she wouldn't just get up and walk, I tried to help her by picking her up by her shirt a few times but she didn't like that. I hope I get to see her again soon!

The birthday girl

I'll race you to the back door Kaitlyn!

I let you win cause it's your birthday, look there's your mommy

I'm going to go find my mommy!

There you are mom!
